Planning Your Trip
The Czech Republic, short form Cesko is a country in Central Europe. The country borders Poland to the northeast, Germany to the west and northwest, Austria to the south and Slovakia to the east. The capital and largest city is Prague (Czech: Praha). The country is composed of the historic regions of Bohemia and Moravia, as well as parts of Silesia.
There are several centres of tourist activity. The historic city of Prague is the primary tourist attraction, as the city is also the most common point of entry for tourists visiting other parts of the country. Most other cities in the country attract significant numbers of tourists, but the spa towns, such as Karlovy Vary, Marianske Lazne and Frantiskovy Lazne, are particularly popular holiday destinations. Other popular tourist sites are the many castles and chateaux, such as those at Karlstejn Castle, Ceski Krumlov and the Lednice–Valtice area. Away from the towns, areas such as Ceski raj, Sumava and the Krkonose Mountains attract visitors seeking outdoor pursuits.

Czech Republic Driving Information. The Czech drivers may seem aggressive sometimes, especially in Prague, but it is far from "madness" as found in some southern Europe countries. The Czech Republic is a zero tolerance country. It is illegal to drive a motor vehicle under the influence of any amount of alcohol, and violations are heavily punished.
The condition of many roads is continually improving, but to be economical and fast, drive on the motorways as much as possible, although if you want to get to remote parts of the country you will not avoid side-roads that may be a little bumpy sometimes.
Speed limits in the Czech Republic are usually 130 km/h on motorways, 90 km/h off the motorways, and 50 km/h in towns. Petrol is inexpensive compared to the rest of Europe (CZK 37 / 1,40EUR), but it is expensive compared to the United States, as it is heavily taxed.
Traffic fines can usually be paid on the spot.
The use of headlights is mandatory at all times. Failure to have your lights on while driving may result in a police fine.
Czech Republic Information
You have to go on a car rental holiday in Czech Republic and understand how one of the world’s youngest republics (1993) could hold so rich a history. The budding country has a great number of resplendent castles and chateaus that are a symbol of the powerful characters that shaped Czech Republic’s vibrant past. If you drive your Czech Republic car rental to the towns of Bohemia and Moravia, you’ll find out significant gems of knowledge about Europe’s ancient history. You’ll also see that the term bohemian that was derived from the Bohemia’s name does not at all apply to the town. You’ll find nothing bohemian about the place although you’ll learn of the tribe that dominated the city for 400 centuries.
Going around Czech Republic
Compared with other European countries, the buses in Czech Republic can be counted on to transport you from one town to another and sometimes even reaching the far-flung villages of the country. For travelers going on holidays and weekends, it is suggested to purchase seats a few days before the trip as the influx of tourists can get very high. Renting a car hire in Czech Republic is cheaper than in other places and the driving conditions are not so bad, either. You should, however, remember that Czech Republic does not tolerate misgivings from drivers, even those on car rental holiday. Follow traffic rules to detail to avoid getting in trouble during an otherwise happy holiday.
From the Airport
The Czech Republic’s central hub is the Ruzyne Airport, found 17 kilometers north of Prague’s city center. There is a bus that connects the airport to two city stations, but you might want to arrange a car hire service with the car rental companies in Prague’s airport especially if your hotel is a considerable distance from the two bus stations. For better savings, it is recommended that you book your Czech Republic car rental before your flight to Prague as car rental companies offer greater deals on advance bookings.
Places to See
Prague is one of the best places to go on a car rental holiday as it is among the most beautiful and cultured cities. The splendid architecture in the country’s capital city is supported by an opulent history. You are to better appreciate the place if you go on an independent exploration of the city instead of joining tourists on package tours. You’d most possibly see Prague and would most possibly be billeted in the country’s most popular tourist destination, but to complete your Czech Republic car rental holiday, give yourself the chance to see the most underrated city, the Olomouc. Olomouc has grandiose ancient architecture that most only see on $2-post cards. One tip for tourists who wish to sample authentic Czech Republic cuisine: hook up with a local that has deep roots into Czech Republic’s culture.
In your Czech Republic car hire, you may drive all the way to Germany to see the country with possibly the most intriguing history in the world. You will be fascinated by the wonderful architecture and would enjoy the world’s Oktoberfest capital.

Everything went smooth and well!
I can't say anything negative about my experience with UDrive car rental booking online. Everything went smooth and well.
1) Online booking - Easy and stright forward.
2) Vehicle selection - I was able to upgrade to a better car on spot at Europcar in Prague.
3) Online voucher process - They honoured the payment made through UDrive. I payed the balance.
4) Pick up experience - Excellent, friendly and helpful staff at Elisky Krasnohorske.
5) I hired VW GOLF TSI 1.4 petrol, 7 speed automatic. Excellent car, good performance and economy.
At the end I payed 200 EUR extra for full insurance to have all excesses waived which was fully worth it.Regards.
