Rhodes is not only one of the most popular tourist destinations in Greece. It also beats many other European countries as a must-see island that screams of culture and historically rich influences. Lying off the coast of Turkey, it saw a huge rise in popularity when gulet cruises of the Turkish Riviera and Greek Islands dramatically reduced their prices to accommodate the budget traveller. The island measures 50 x 24 miles and has a population of roughly 115,000. The currency used is Euros but what else do first time visitors to the island need to know?
